Guppys are hardy fish and are exceptionally good for first time entusiasts and add fantastic colour to your tropical aquarium.

As these are fry if putting with other fish it is important to have a breeding net to allow them a couple of weeks to grow before mixing with other tropical fish. They are very hardy and from fry they can be good to cycle the tank, plus you can nurture and watch them grow from young. So if these are your first fish buy at least ten they grow to about 2inchs in size and are exceptionally peaceful fish.
Unlike some fish guppys dont mind being densley populated. All guppys start off as female in about 4-6weeks time they will settle there genders some will turn male. Males have much brighter colours then the females and an overall elegant look. It is important for the males to have some females around as they are pretty much horny fish. They will breed but there are certain steps you must take to ensure the baby fry are saved as mother and other fish will eat the fry as they see this as a perfect live food delicacy.
