I am very regrettably selling my desktop nano aquarium because I am moving to Australia. I have decided to sell it as a complete unit because it works so well as a system. Of the many aquariums I have had this has been the most stable and rewarding. The maintenance required is minimal and with the current livestock it can be left unattended for a week or more. For this reason it would suit a busy person who wants a small and beautiful aquarium without the hassle of setup or regular maintenance.
It is a good example of a low tech planted tank, there is no CO2 or fertilisation to worry about. The aquarium is a 30L goldfish bowl with a small internal filter, covered in moss. The filter is invisible apart from the wire at the top. The light is a 12v halogen desk light with a timer. The aquarium must go somewhere fairly warm and stable in temperature with minimal daylight.
Plants are java moss (Vesicularia dubyana), tiger lotus (Nymphaea sp.) and moss ball (). There is a floating plant also but I’m not sure what it is. Livestock is a dwarf plec (will not grow!) and a breeding population of cherry shrimps (25 at a guess?).
Also included will be a mat, cover and fish/shrimp food.
