Frequently reef safe remedies do not work but I would seriously question the comments of an expert that says leave it and the tang will just get better! Considering a single cyst can release over 1,000 potential infective parasites is it really sensible to do nothing and wait?
I think not, at the moment I am trying the reduced salinity method this does stress the corals but it has had an effect on the parasites, ultimately though I may have to remove all the fish from the reef in to quarantine and treat them for white spot away from the reef and leave the reef fish free for at least 6 weeks to ensure all parasites are dead. |

Get a clear coke bottle cut the bottom off of it and make sure it is clean fill it with water from the tank and when you place it in the tank put some frozen food in the bottle so it goes up to the cap end. Sit back and wait fish in all likelyhood will go for the food as they do this quickly put a net over the open end and remove bottle with fish inside.
It doesn't always work but it is the best method I have found I have the joy of trying to catch 6 fish in a reef using this method at the weekend! |

I have recently added a couple of new fish to my established tank and now have a problem with Oodinium.
I have been using Exodin, now on 3rd treatment and 2 fish have gone blind (not the new ones), I am not sure if it is the treatment or the condition that has caused this.
If any one can offer advice I would be grateful. |

Get the fish out of the tank into a quarantine set up and treat them in there and leave the reef fishless for at least 6 weeks.
