Don Conkel is world renowned for collecting and breeding American Cichlid. He has been established for over 30 years, and has grown to be the largest producer of North and Central American Cichlids in the world. Don Conkel has a vast knowledge of American Cichlid and takes part in talks all around the world. He is also the author of the book “Cichlids of North and Central America”, published in 1993. Don Conkels Tropicals have facilities in Central America for collecting fish caught wild seasonally, in addition to a large complex in Florida (USA) with over 100 pools for breeding these fish.
