  Breeding Colony of Pseudotropheus Demasoni

Breeding Colony of Pseudotropheus Demasoni

Description: Leaving for an overseas posting in May and need to find a home for a colony of Pseudotropheus Demasoni (African Mbuna Cichlids) with someone who will appreciate them. 24 juveniles purchased from Tony’s African Cichlids in July 2016 have settled into a stable colony of about 14 adults, breeding for about six months. Current tank has 14 adults and about 10 juveniles of various ages including two fry about two weeks old!. This is a single species tank who have learned how to get along. Lots of manic chasing about but very rarely a nipped fin. Willing to consider selling only the Mbuna and not the tank, but to someone who intends to maintain as a single species tank.

Will consider selling complete aquarium set up as well (or whatever elements you would like—you don’t need to take all), which is:

1. Jewel Rio 240-liter tank, light wood colored cabinet, T8 light, LED “moonlight,” three timers, simulated rock background, small cooling fans
2. Fluval FX6 external filter
3. Fluval 306 external filter
4. Two Little Fishies Phosban Reactor 550
5. Hydor Koralia Evolution 3200 circulation pump and timer
6. Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6045 Circulation Pump and timer
7. Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6065 Circulation Pump and timer
8. Pola HP12 two-channel temperature controller with remote IP68 probe
9. Aqua Medic Titanium Heater 500W
10. Aqua Medic Titanium Heater 200W
11. Tank fitted with Super Nano Overflow Box (weir and drilled hole for piped overflow)
12. Automatic water change and top up system with twin Pozanni under sink housings using Chloramine Reduction filter cartridges
13. Extensive rockwork using mostly cichlid cave rocks and grey pillar rocks from Feed My Fish
14. Caribsea Super Natural Tahitian Moon Black Sand (about 80 lbs)
15. PlatinumLED grow light 300w (stimulates growth of algae for fry) and two timers
Note: Several fine scratches on the inside of the front glass from over-rough cleaning of algae.
