Paramecium Culture - Microscopic Live food for tiny fry & hatchling
Paramecium are small one celled (unicellular) living organisms that can move, digest food, and reproduce. They belong to the kingdom of Protista, which is a group of similar living micro-organisms. Micro-organism means they are a very small living cell. You might be able to see one as a tiny moving speck if your eyesight is extremely good but for any detail at all you need a microscope to look at and study them.
They are relatively easy to maintain and culture and can be kept in a small bottle or jar and fed occasionally to keep it going. Sub-culturing a new culture every now and then is a good idea, to keep the cultures fresh.
These are perfect for tiny fry and newly hatched fish. Although humans may struggle to see them, small fish are perfectly suited to spotting and catching them and it often triggers the feeding instinct to kick in in some species.
Available in 50ml or 500ml amounts of concentrated paramecium culture. All you need to do is add it to a container with some distilled water and provide a bacterial food source (yeast, milk or similar)
They will be sent via 1st Class Post, Monday to Thursdays in a protective cardboard box
